A Condensing Boiler
A condensing boiler is a boiler that reuses the heat that would normally escape from the boiler flue to reheat water in a secondary tank. When hydrocarbon fuel like gas and oil are burnt, as part of the combustion process they combine with the oxygen in the air to form water vapor. The water vapor produced by the burning of gas in the boiler condenses back into liquid water releasing the latent heat of vaporization from the water.This vapor is condensed into liquid within the boiler and can then give up this heat which can be transferred to the heating system therefore raising the efficiency of the process. Because latent heat is a more significant source of energy, condensing boilers have efficiency ratings up to 98%.
Combination Boiler
The combination (Combi) boiler is one of the most popular types of domestic home heating boiler. Because it is an instantaneous boiler it heats water on demand to use for your home. Combination boilers are practical in small apartments where there is minimal or not enough space for either hot or cold water storage. The standard combi boilers heat water in about 40 seconds. Some combis control the flow of water until it is hot enough. Condensing Combination Boilers are condensing versions of the standard combination boiler and are more efficient, giving you the advantage of a combination boiler as well as a condensing boiler. They can replace an existing combi boiler.
